Quick First

Just when you thought the first meetings were over...BAM!

I thought it would be fun to show the first meeting of their teen selves and then the first meeting of their older selves.

I got the idea for this from Nightwing's first appearance. Dick Grayson appears in his costume and gives his new name...then in a panel right alongside it...Jericho makes his first appearance in costume. That always made me feel like Dick got cheated. I mean, this is Dick Grayson. The boy wonder! You'd think he'd get an issue, or at least a page, all to himself to make his big huge first appearance in a new identity...but he had to share the page with someone else. Pfffft. So anyway, this is the Earth G version. Nightbird goes to make his big first appearance and Impakt runs in and steals the spotlight. Then she and Awesome Woman ignore him completely and then run off.

It looks like Awesome Woman is looking wistfully at the P.U.S base but really she's just supposed to be looking off into the distance. The panel arrangement lined up like that unintentionally. Nightbird's first lines of dialogue are based on what Dick Grayson said when he first appeared as Nightwing.

It was kinda tricky to decide on the dialogue since the transition from Kid Fwoosh to Impakt is a complicated one full of time travel and alternate realities. So I tried to avoid it. I hinted that Awesome Woman already knew Impakt, just to make it easier, but hadn't seen her in costume before.

I do apologise for the quality of some of the doodling on these pages. I'm so behind I'm always scrambling to try and get it done on time and stuff suffers. That always seems like the trade off...on time or drawn better. I decided to go with 'on time' for these pages. But hopefully I'll be able to do both as I get through the pages.

I forgot to give credit on the last page so I need to do that again.
